Terms and Conditions
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of canadacopyright.ca (“Website”) and the copyright support services we provide (“Services”), operated by Canada Copyright. By accessing or using the Website or Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Services
We offer support for Canada copyright registration, searches, corrections, and document access through the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). We prepare and submit forms on your behalf, provide guidance, and facilitate related processes. We are not a law firm, do not provide legal advice, and do not create an attorney-client relationship.
User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information for all applications and requests.
Seek independent legal advice if needed; we do not guarantee approval or outcomes from CIPO.
Use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with Canadian law.
You are responsible for your content, decisions, and any consequences of use.
No Warranties / "As Is" Disclaimer
Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or meet your needs.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canada Copyright shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Website, including text, graphics, and logos, is owned by Canada Copyright or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends, but certain provisions (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability) survive.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Canada.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Refund and Return Policy
At Canada Copyright, customer satisfaction is very important to us. We provide support services for copyright registration, searches, corrections, and document access with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). Because these are professional services (not physical products), refunds are limited and subject to the conditions below.
Cancellation and Refund Requests
- If you placed an order by mistake or need to cancel/correct it, contact us immediately within 30 minutes of placing the order by calling or emailing info@canadacopyright.ca.
For urgent or fast-track services, notify us within 10 minutes.
If you fail to contact us within these timeframes, we may deduct proportionate service fees (including full agency fees) from any refund.
Important Refund Restrictions
- Financial processing fees (if applicable) will be deducted from any approved refund.
If you initiate a chargeback with your payment provider without first contacting us, we reserve the right to refuse further services and you must deal directly with your financial institution.
Once we begin processing your order (including preparation, submission, or specialist review), service fees and government filing fees are non-refundable.
If we make a filing error, we will correct it at no extra cost as soon as possible. A refund is considered only if we completely fail to provide or complete the agreed service after you have supplied all required information in a timely manner.
No partial refunds are available once we have started work on your selected service.
If CIPO rejects any aspect of your application (e.g., title or details), you must provide alternatives or accept the outcome. Canada Copyright does not issue refunds in rejection cases.
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information promptly. Delays or incomplete services caused by missing/incorrect information from you are not eligible for refunds.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method (e.g., same credit/debit card used for the transaction).
